The Old Crew: Where is the best staff Now?
We have the best staff in Grand Cayman. Where is Annabelle now?
Life After Grand Cayman Travel. Travel. Travel. All I want to do is travel. I took a break from work and spent two months in Indonesia, where I was lucky enough to dive with mantra rays. The marine life in the Pacific Ocean is very different from the Caribbean Sea. A lot more soft coral and macro life, aside from the mantas.
When it was time to go back to work I moved to Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, to continue diving as an eco guide. Most diving instructors have pursued a diving career because of their love for the sea. I became more involved in marine conservation and educating guests about protecting our oceans.
Turks & Caicos vs The Cayman Islands Not too far from Cayman, Providenciales isn’t technically in the Caribbean, it’s in the Atlantic Ocean. The water is colder than the Cayman Islands but the reef life is fairly similar. Personally I think the scuba diving is better on Grand CaymanPrivate Dive Charters; the coral is healthier and more abundant, the wall drop off is much more dramatic and I miss all the swim throughs (Snapper Hole is still one of my favourite dive sites). In Turks & Caicos however, it’s common to see dolphins and in the winter the humpback whales migrate through the islands. Being in the water with a humpback whale is amazing and swimming with dolphins regularly is awesome, obviously.
What’s Next? After leaving Providenciales in February I went to India to complete my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training. Unfortunately I had to leave India earlier than expected due to the Covid-19 crisis. So now I’m waiting it out in England and planning on heading to Boss Mans’ Motherland, Australia. Whenever the apocalypse is over and Australia opens up their borders again, I’m off to see the Great Barrier Reef.
